Life-long Horseman and Clark County Resident. Past 4-H member and
Leader. Had the privilege of Formal Riding Lessons during my teen years
under the notable Ward Wells. Began competing in pleasure driving and
combined driving venues in 1978. Moved to the current Fern Prairie
site in 1990. Remodeling began on the old barn , in an effort to turn it into
a pleasant , workable horse facility. Additional adjacent property was
acquired and construction started on the covered arena. Since then the
storage / hay shed has been added, many corrals, round pens, and the warm
water wash rack.
Began boarding horses in earnest in 2000. At that time, I became aware of
how many people had trouble with basic manners on their animals. This
evoked a search for better methods of teaching and training. Interest in
what has become known as ‘ natural horsemanship’ evolved.
I am a firm believer in continuing education. I strive to add the newest
technologies of care, and training to time tested principles. An open
friendly atmosphere of helpful cooperation among the boarders is fostered.
Every effort is made to make this a fun, enjoyable adventure. This farm is
my passion and my home. Welcome
